The week that was: shorters burned even as interest rates rise

Hello everyone,

I hope you’ve had a good weekend!

I am back on Substack after an ill-fated experiment with Twitter’s Revue newsletter service last week. Elon Musk has a lot on his plate right now, but it would be great to see him improve that product for us newsletter writers!

There are a couple of things I need to let you know about:

  1. The Daily Investment Show was broadcast three times last week, with improved lighting and production quality to help the host look a little better (not easy). Tune in at 2pm every weekday for the latest financial news and analysis: the link will be available from the channel homepage.

Recent episodes:

  1. I have just written an almost 1500-world article explaining my favourite investment idea of the week.

Every Monday morning at 7am, I am publishing my favourite investment idea of the week on Patreon.

Last week, I sent out some analysis of a high-yielding corporate bond where I think the yield offers an attractive reward for risk-tolerant investors.

The week before, I sent out my analysis of a dirt-cheap financial stock that I think should rebound strongly when equity markets turn.

This week, on Monday morning at 7am, subscribers will get my views on a consumer-facing business that has navigated turbulent economic times extremely well and is now in a position to buy up small competitors from desperate shareholders or indeed from administrators.

To get these ideas delivered to you, or to sponsor the investment show on YouTube, consider signing up to my Patreon.

  1. I am now a confirmed speaker at Mello London (on Wednesday November 16th).

Mello Events

Should you wish to attend this two-day event, you can receive 50% off any ticket using the code CUBE50. You can also receive a special £25 Thursday ticket with the code CUBE25. See you there!

That is all for now. Thank you and good luck!

Best wishes

Graham
